Gothic was the language spoken by the ancient Goths. The Goths split up in Visigoths (western Goths) and Ostrogoths (eastern Goths). The Visigoths established a kingdom in Spain which lasted for more then 200 years, and the Ostrogoths a kingdom in Italy, lasting for a 100 years. Their language is preserved by the bishop Wulfila, who translated the Bible into their language in the 4th century. They still spoke their language in Pannonia (modern Romania), but was in decline later.
