The focus of this course is on the impact of information technology on global and local societies. Topics include: ethics principles, ethical reasoning, professional codes of ethics, benefits and risks of IT, protection of privacy, changing communications paradigms, controlling offensive material, intellectual property and the new challenges faced, crime and the difficulties of fighting crime in cyberspace.
